I like working with AI, but I don’t trust it. This limits how much I want to integrate it into my workflow.

For UI and UX design, that is. Because that’s my expertise.

The basic mistakes that some AI tools make are sometimes bad. Even if it’s only one thing that goes wrong with AI, I still have to check everything. Again. And again.

I’m still faster at designing high-quality key pages from scratch because, after researching the brand, creating the concept, design system, and user journeys, every step and thought process is ingrained in my brain.

So when it comes to designing the pages, I usually fly through them. Because the hard part has already been done. When all of these aspects are in order and make sense(!), my brain just spits it out… like a design machine.

Bringing everything together in the end, for me, is like eating a delicious dessert (imagine Italian ice cream) at a beautiful dinner party. It’s the conclusion. The reason why I joined the project (not the party. I like people too).

To see it all come together and know that every part of the design is correct. You can hand it over with confidence. That’s what makes the difference for me.

I (partial) trust AI as a tool. I trust my experience more.

Where do you draw the line between trusting AI and trusting your own expertise?
