The HMD Skyline is a smartphone focused on a great camera and bespoke widgets.
Context
Building mobile phones as a small company in a market dominated by Apple, Google, and Samsung is both bold and demanding. When HMD began developing phones under their own name (formerly Nokia), I was thrilled to join them and seize the rare opportunity to work on a phone operating system—pushing design boundaries to the fullest.
Based on the Android platform, we explored every possible area for customization, ensuring each model reflected the brand’s identity. As the sole digital product designer, I reported directly to the creative director and collaborated with a global team spanning China, Taiwan, Finland, and Switzerland. Navigating this new space of UI design was both challenging and highly rewarding.
