Product Design – Imperial Hotel London

This is a large and on going project for the Imperial Hotel London Group. Overhaul and improvement of their existing products (website, booking flow, ticket office, reservation software) and creation of new products (mobile app, kiosk tool)

I worked closely with the product owner to create the concepts and UX.

Some aspects of this project are complex and at times challenging. Room reservation and booking UX needed to tie in with their existing Opera platform and other limitations. Otherwise the client and hotel owners are very open to new ideas and functionalities.

Personas

Defining a set of users for all the digital products for the hotel. Their needs, pain points, goals and crossovers.

Website

Redesign of the Imperial Hotel London Group website. Over howl of the website and mainly the booking flow, combining 6 hotels into one website. Complex and at times challenging tasks. Room reservation and booking UX needed to tie in with their existing Opera platform and other limitations. Otherwise the client and hotel owners were very open to new ideas and functionalities for improvement and modernisation.

Online booking

The heart of this project is the online room booking. The booking flow of the old website was clunky and not-intuitive. We revisited all aspects of the process and created a logic and transparent user-experience. This part was challenging as there are many complex platform restrictions.

Mobile App

Creating a new mobile app for guests of one of London’s biggest hotel groups. The group owns 6 hotels across London and wanted to create an app for faster and more autonomous checkin, checkout and door access.

Ticket office

Design of the ticket booking section of the website. To incorporate the currently neglected ticket purchasing service run by a third party.

Reservation Software

This desktop software provides the in-house reservation team a quick interface 

I like to work with complex briefs and content. Dashboard and admin designs are not glamourous looking but require a well oiled UX & UI brain to make it all work together… ultimate usability is key.
